Announcing “Unravel”
My third collection of poems, Unravel, will be published by McClelland & Stewart in Canada and the US on March 25, 2025. I am both excited and terrified to share it with the world. The cover was designed by Jennifer Griffiths and features a portrait of Amenemhat III wearing the white Hedjet crown of Upper Egypt. The sculpture is currently in the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, in Copenhagen.
UNRAVEL is an examination of deconstruction from personal, anthropological, relational, philosophical, and theological perspectives. Within the longer arc of our breakdown in this era, most of us had personal ones as well. How did it go so wrong? How could I? How did we get here? How do you go on when you disappoint yourself completely? What now?
Pre-orders mean a great deal in a book’s journey, so I hope you can request that your local library carry it, or pre-order it via this link (hopefully using the “Shop Local” option”).
UNRAVEL has the good fortune of being published in the company of Aisha Sasha John’s total, Chris Bailey’s Forecast: Pretty Bleak, and Rebecca Salazar’s antibody. I hope you’ll read those as well! The book was acquired and distilled by Canisia Lubrin, with the fabulous facilitation and editorial guidance of Kelly Joseph and Rebecca Rocillo, and the brilliant production of the team at McClelland & Stewart.
I am currently investigating promotional appearances and opportunities, and very hopeful for the attention of potential reviewers. Hollay Ghadery is coordinating promotional activities for the M&S titles in the spring cohort. Kindly connect with the River Street Writing team, if this is of interest.
